Erika & Jeff--10th Anniversary/Trash the Dress

I met Erika back in May, when I had the chance to take her family pictures. We have kept in touch since then, and this summer, she mentioned that she would be celebrating her 10th wedding anniversary this Fall. As part of the celebration, she and Jeff planned a trip to the Big Easy and she wanted to do a Trash the Dress session with her wedding dress from 10 years ago. So, would I be up for it? You betcha! So after months of emailing each other and creating a vision for this, we opted to start things off in an old New Orleans cemetery and then make our way over to the French Quarter. And boy, did we have a great time!

Two things to note--1: Props to Erika and Jeff for both being able to slip into their wedding attire from ten years ago without a hitch. It's safe to say I'd have trouble fitting into mine if I were to try the same thing. And 2: If there was a person who was completely cut out for a session such as this, it is most definitely Erika. She knew the kind of shots she wanted and wasn't afraid to get them. She jumped in a fountain, asked a man to borrow his bike, had her hair freshly dyed pink, etc. You get my drift. This was definitely up her alley! And since a marriage is forever, who needs the dress, right? I had a great time with these two and got to do a few things I'd not normally get the chance to do. Enjoy, Erika!

Count 'em up...that's 10, baby! And here's to many, many more! Happy Anniversary, ya lovebirds!

I LOVE the idea and the pictures! If you're still in NOLA in two and half years (and if I'm not pregnant again:) I might just steal Erika's idea!

Awesome pics, Becky! Once again, I'm amazed by your talent. Can't say I would ever want to trash my own dress! But, these were so cute. Fun!

Cool. That looks like it was such a fun session. I have never heard of it but they turned out super cute---and of course, NOLA has some cool places to take shots like that. Fun. st
